For more than 65 years we have provided cost management services throughout the world and have been particularly prominent in the sports and leisure sectors including stadia, sports and recreational centres, hotels and holiday villages. The following specifically highlights our recent racing circuit experience.
Bahrain International Circuit
BWS has provided services on a wide range of ancillary projects adjacent to the Bahrain Formula 1 Circuit – the first of its kind in the Middle East. From the RUF Porsche centre incorporating vehicle testing facilities to the 2020 Amphitheathre construction.
Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi
Working closely with Tilke, BWS were appointed to provide cost management services on the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit. This included dragster and karting tracks and a number of ancillary structures. The totally inflexible end date ensured that every member of the design and construction team worked to precise targets and deadlines to complete this project in 28 months in time for the inaugural Grand Prix in November 2009.
Marrakech, Morocco
In the 2000s BWS was involved in extensive feasibility cost planning services on the ambitious Morocco Film City project by Wyatt Design Group. The Project comprised hotels, villas, leisure facilities and stadia surrounded by a racing circuit across a 420-hectare site with dramatic views of the Atlas Mountains. Whilst the project did not proceed there have been recent talks to develop Formula 1 in Africa and run the first Grand Prix on the continent since 1993 with Marrakech again a front runner.
