Insurance Valuations / Asset Appraisals

We prepare tailored cost estimates to a number of UK and overseas clients to assess the cost of reinstating a building on the basis of total loss or of such substantial damage that the entire building will require demolition and rebuilding. Our assessment reports follow the direction given in the RICS guidance note and are prepared with speed, accuracy and efficiency to allow the client to maintain the correct level of insurance.

Robust Estimating

In 1989, an Elizabethan country mansion in West Sussex owned by the National Trust, UK, was destroyed by fire. We then provided cost management services on the sympathetic restoration of the mansion over a period of four years. Uppark was the catalyst for our developing this expertise but we have also adapted the system to deal with modern buildings and have provided this service internationally and had a Property Insurance article published in ‘Historic House’ the magazine of The Historic Houses Association in the UK.

Comprehensive Cost Database

BWS has devised a system whereby insurance valuations could be carried out for all types of buildings both economically and accurately. We have also carried out this service for the National Trust for Scotland, English Heritage, corporate owners, local authorities and many private owners in the UK and Middle East.
